Patience with Gentoo Rewarded
My previous post about Gentoo Linux revealed that I was starting to think that the pain of waiting for emerges to finish was not worth it.
A couple of weeks further down the track I think it is only fair to report that I am now much happier about this Linux distro, which others have enthused about.
I have come to appreciate the ease with which Portage allows software to be updated. And I've found the forums to be very helpful too. Only today this forum topic enabled me to configure printing from Gentoo on my laptop to my home printer on a Windows NT box.
So, despite the time I've been investing, I am now prepared to give Gentoo the thumbs up.
