Billy Connolly's NZ Tour Abused by Ads

I was delighted to be able to watch the first episode of Billy Connolly's World Tour of New Zealand the other evening. Billy is one of my favourite comedians and I find his humour and humanity irresistable.

Connolly has an uncanny ability to captivate an audience. And I for one certainly do not appreciate interruptions to his shows.

Unlike previous screenings in Australia of his "world tours", this one is being shown on commercial television, to which it is clearly unsuited. Billy was just starting to relate what promised to be an engaging and funny story the other night when there was a break to an advertisement. He was cut off mid-sentence.

I was outraged. It was a f***ing disgrace!

I'm a big fan of the Big Yin as well and I think you've got a point there. Mind you, compared to his other world tour shows I thought the stand up clips they showed were a bit poor. Hopefully it will improve in this Sunday's episode.
