The Wait is Nearly Over
Yes, the much anticipated Ashes series is almost upon us. Tomorrow at the Gabba in Brisbane the speculation can stop and the cricket can start.
It's a shame for Shane Watson that his hamstring injury will prevent him from playing but in a way I'm glad. I don't think he should have been selected in the first place. If Australia are going to play an all-rounder he has to be geniunely capable of taking wickets. And I'm not convinced that Watson is. If the imperitave is to give the team more chances to take wickets then why not play five bowlers? After all, Gilchrist is more than capable of batting at six and Warne and Lee are both very handy with the willow. Having said that, I'm a Michael Clarke fan and hope that he returns to the Test team in emphatic fashion.
Anyway, that's enough talk from me. Let the Ashes begin!
